We left, Saturday, in a big car
To all go together for a big picnic in nature
Taking baskets, bottles, packages
And the radio!

Mustard
Bread, butter
Pickled onions
Jams
And hard-boiled eggs

And crackers
Macarons
A corkscrew
Shortbread biscuits
And beer

We hadn't forgotten anything, mom did everything
She worked for three days without stopping

The cold chicken

Chocolate
Mushrooms
Can openers
And tomatoes

But when we arrived, we found the rain
What we had forgotten was the umbrellas
We brought back the baskets, bottles, packages

We went back
To eat at home
The cheese and the cans
The jams and the gherkins
The mustard and the butter
The mayonnaise and the gherkins
The chicken, the crackers
The hard-boiled eggs and then the gherkins
