Today I had a nightmare and I rose, alert
In time
I woke up in fear and searched in the dark for someone with your affection
And I remembered a time

Because the past brings me a memory
Of the time when I was a child
And fear was a reason for tears
An excuse for a hug or for solace

Today I woke up in fear, but I didn't cry nor did I plead for shelter
From the dark, I saw an infinity, without present, past or future
I felt a strong embrace, it was no longer fear
It was a part of you that remained in me

Suddenly, one sees they have lost or are losing something
Warm and naive, that gets left along the way
Which is dark and cold, but also beautiful, because it is illuminated
By the beauty of what happened minutes ago
