I remember with longing and sometimes my heart cries
The night is coming, I can't wait
To go to church to worship God
And when I arrive I look at the altar, I see the pastor sitting
Looking at the silent church
I see in his eyes a sorrowful look
Because he remembers with longing the first little church
That was small and cramped
And there was no light to brighten
But when the pastor preached the sky opened
The church prayed and the power fell
That was a praying church

Small church, where God spoke
The power fell and His church Jesus visited
Where is now that little church?
Where the praise rose
And at the same moment the power fell

I feel that this church is like the one of old
The children sing and also give glory
And the youth is strong in faith
And when this church cries out, the Lord answers
Sending His glory and His power
Making miracles happen
And today the pastor of this church is happy
Teaching what the Bible says
Keeping his church strong and faithful
And the whole church in prayer, continues wisely
In consecration, marching forward
The praying church will dwell in heaven
