I was not called because I was worthy

A heart thirsting for God
Like David before giants
Like Moses with his stutter
You took what the world despises
And you filled it with your power
You used vile things, Lord
To show your love
You took my nothing
And you made me a bearer
Of your glory, your truth
Of the eternal and celestial
If you use me
It's only because of your kindness
I was like Peter in his denial
I was like Saul before I saw the light
But your grace, more than my mistake
He gave me a new name on the cross
You did not choose the strong or the wise
You chose the fallen and the forgotten
And now my story is a testament
That your power is perfected in vile things
You used vile things, Lord
To show your love
You took my downfall
And you gave me an address
You made an altar out of weakness
From foolishness, your sign
If you use me
It is your grace without end
