Sun, ancient Sun, immortal father
Giver of life and health
From the stone temple of my America
Today as yesterday, listen carefully to my prayer
Give us the corn that feeds, the water that is life
And the wool that protects from the cold
Give us peace, justice, respect for this suffering people
That is yours and mine
Sun, my father Sun, warm the air
With your age-old flame
May your strength reach our hearts
And your vigor sustain my weakness
Give us courage to fight
For what is ours and they want to take away
Help us defeat
Those who want to harm us
May the candles not go out
May they burn marking the centuries of the Inca and their faith
The cattle will come, stretch the crops
Unleash your sources of milk and honey
May the Inca Empire shine again in its splendor
Under your light may Andean peoples and coastal peoples grow in peace
