Tonada del Angelito
Melania Pérez
Angelito's Tune
A soulless angel
It fell into the yard of my house
Like a ripe fig
Stripped of his wings
Heavenly despair of his sky
The poor little angel was walking
Without the bow and arrows
Little angel from nowhere
You are the angel of the fig tree
I asked him as a compliment
And in a dew of tears
He told me, I am Cupid
Forgive me for the sadness
And walk so destitute
Because people don't love each other
I am a deposed angel
How sorry I was for it
Of the little angel without wings
His sorrow was so deep
That when he saw him cry, he cried
To bring him comfort
I sang him old tunes
Until dawn
Hearing me sing, he sang
And as the day returned
His wings were growing
Friend Jorge, I'll let you know
That love is not a fig
And to the one who is feeling downhearted
Oblivion takes him away
If you feel your wings growing
Fly to spring
