Once upon a time, a love story in the city
Of an innocent girl and a real man
He was looking for a woman to love
And she was searching for a guy to date

One fine day, everything was about to change
She was out with her friends, he was heading to work
In a mishap with the light still green, distracted
All I could hear were the screams of her friends

"Girl, watch out, there's a car coming your way!"
When I turned around, she was already on the ground
I stopped my bike and rushed to help her out
And that’s when I realized I was gonna fall for her

I asked if she was hurt really bad
She said she just had a scraped leg
I helped her up and said: "Watch out on the street
Here’s my number, call me if you need anything"

I went on my way and continued my day
But I couldn’t get that girl out of my head
I got home, laid on the couch, turned on the TV
And just kept thinking about when I’d see her again

I dozed off and woke up to a call
It was such a sweet voice that touched my heart
It was that girl from earlier in the accident
She said I was really kind, that I was different

She said she wanted to see me, I asked her out
Let’s grab dinner, catch a movie to unwind
And after the movie, I took her to my place
She was the woman I dreamed of to be my love

Two years went by, we decided to get married
Told our families and headed to the altar
And on the wedding day, she looked so beautiful

Time passed and she found out she was pregnant
I was so happy, we’d grow and prepare the house
And by the end of her pregnancy, she was so radiant
But on a rainy night, tragedy struck

Coming back from a restaurant with our family
Parking the car in the garage, a trap
Two masked thugs wanted to rob us
And with nothing to do, I said, "Take it all"
And suddenly I heard the sound of a gunshot
It hit her in the chest and the thugs ran away

Desperate, I called for help
When they got there, the doctor told me it was too late
That the bullet was fatal and she wouldn’t survive
But they could still save the baby’s life

And then he was born, in a cruel scene
