Today I woke up
Stopped to reflect
And saw how things have changed
It's that I grew up mentally
And thought a little more about myself
And saw that drinking buddies abandoned me

I distanced myself from those who wouldn't let me walk
I distanced myself from what was holding me back from thriving
And I changed my attitudes and way of thinking
I knelt down to thank and not to complain

The light of faith shone to guide me
Directed by what's right, I can't stray
I improved and learned from life
Deep down in the pit
