If she were enchanted by the full dam
With the rumble of the stream flowing to the river
With the corn sprouting in the wet soil
With dewy morning covering the lowlands
With the butterflies' flight adorning the flowers
Tangling the colors across the sky
With an old mansion in front of the Mulungu tree
Where a blue sky pours out feelings
With my bay horse, fast, strong, and fearless
At least with the barking of my hunting dog
With a perfumed breath coming from the yard
In the January afternoons when the rain passes
If she didn't want to change my ways
Or find fault in me being native
I swear I would give my heart to her
And take her to the place where I live
