Dois Bonecos No Forró
Márcio Marinho
Two Puppets At The Forró Dance
I was struck by the lack of love from the beautiful Joaquina
The one who chose to leave me alone on the corner without any pity
I took a few to clean the coils
And I'll become a puppet right there in the middle of the forró dance hall
The ground looks like it's turned into a frevo dance stage in a chaotic mess
My legs wouldn't stay in place
I was more alert than a lit headlight and drunk
I asked for a glass of water to regulate myself
I turned around thinking things were getting better, but then they got worse
Instead of water, they gave me a drum tea and I turned into a baião de dois (a traditional Brazilian dish)
I doubled myself, and the pain doubled afterward
I made my prayer my bread and butter
I turned the dance into a religious service
Oh my God, have mercy!
How I wish I could be just one, and I would do anything to be one
But to my dismay, it turned out that I ended up playing two puppets with the bass drum in the forró dance
