Old Horse
When love
comes like this, in this way,
you don't even realize it.
The Cauca river turns green,
and the guamachico blooms
and the rope breaks.
They give the old horse pasture
because he's old and tired.
But they don't even realize
that a tied heart,
when the reins are released,
becomes a runaway horse.
And if a chestnut filly
meets an old horse,
his heart breaks,
he doesn't pay attention to flattery,
and doesn't obey the bit
or fake reins.
When love
comes like this, in this way,

Loving each other has no schedule
or date on the calendar
when the desires come together.
They give the old horse pasture
and his time is counted.
And he goes in the morning
with his hurried step,
to see his filly
who has him enchanted.
The colt gives time to time
because he has plenty of age.
An old horse can't
lose the flower they give him,
because after this life
there's no other chance.
