In the seas of poetry, I sailed
Crossing the borders of time
I arrived... in the lands of Canaan
I found the Phoenician people
From cedar, they built the boats
Bathing with wisdom,
Other civilizations
And the commercial expansion
Generated cultural exchange
Mystery! The lifeblood
Reaches the land of carnival

This land is promised!
Blessed is our ground
Where the seed of peace is green and pink
And sprouts in my heart

From Assyrian art, the inspiration
The king ordered to build
The monument to love
And the black queen offered

There are peddlers, bartering, shouting
The belly dance still infects
I go to the Sahara to buy, day by day
Going down the hill
I sell joy

I am the essence of samba,
My root is of a bamba
I am Mangueira
The strong trunk that bears fruit
All life long
