Oração do Pecador
Luke Lotus
Sinner's Prayer
Forgive me, if I loved you like someone who hurts
In a hurry, in fear, with everything that explodes and implodes
If I mistook your body for redemption
And I made your soul my downfall
I prayed in vain at the altars of your kiss
I begged for affection, I received desire
I made you a temple, even without faith
And I destroyed you, without wanting to, standing up
I prayed your name as a prayer
I knelt at your altar, but your touch was a sentence
And I didn't know how to escape, your mouth lies like an escape
My place was your punishment
I loved wrong, I loved too much, I lost myself trying to be shelter
I just wanted love, but I was a storm
I gave you a thousand promises, but no truth
Now I kneel before what's left
From the pieces of us that pride tore
And now I cry out in silence, for a forgiveness that may not come
Heaven sees me as guilty, but deep down, I just wanted to love you
This is my sinner's prayer
Who made a mistake trying to be your savior
I loved with thorns, with vices and pain
I made you bleed calling it love
Forgive the touch that hurt
The mouth that begged and then fell silent
I was just a man blinded by passion
Asking God for your absolution
Sinner's prayer
Who loves excessively, who sins for love
Forgive me, God, if I gave too much of myself
If my faith was a profane altar in your signs
Sinner's prayer
Who made a mistake trying to save the other
And ended up drowning
In the very sea of pain
I covered you with promises like a veil, but I was hell disguised as heaven
I loved with my fists, with fear, in a hurry
I wanted you for myself, but without rushing you
I was poison with a flower taste
And now I'm just the echo of your resentment
But between pride and despair
I only have a shred of hope left
They burned my wings in your fire, but I called it heaven
I transformed your poison into the water that quenched me for a cruel moment
And even knowing it was a sin
I came back, I insisted
Your embrace was a golden prison, and I bowed, even without resisting
I just wanted to be your salvation
But I was the reason for your loneliness
Now I confess without illusion
With tears in the form of prayer (oh-oh-woah)
This is my sinner's prayer
Who made a mistake trying to be your savior
I loved with thorns, with vices and pain
I made you bleed calling it love
Forgive the touch that hurt
The mouth that begged and then fell silent
I was just a man blinded by passion
Asking God for your absolution
Sinner's prayer
Who loves excessively, who sins for love
Forgive me, God, if I gave too much of myself
If my faith was a profane altar in your signs
Sinner's prayer
Who made a mistake trying to save the other
And ended up drowning
In the very sea of pain
If love is a cross, I carried it wrong
If love is light, I left you in the dark
But even broken, I pray quietly
So that your heart finds another path
And if loving was my biggest mistake
May it be my greatest lesson
May this prayer be the end
And also my acquittal
This is my sinner's prayer
Who made a mistake trying to be your savior
I loved with thorns, with vices and pain
I made you bleed calling it love
Forgive the touch that hurt
The mouth that begged and then fell silent
I was just a man blinded by passion
Asking God for your absolution
Sinner's prayer
Who loves excessively, who sins for love
Forgive me, God, if I gave too much of myself
If my faith was a profane altar in your signs
Sinner's prayer
Who made a mistake trying to save the other
And ended up drowning
In the very sea of pain
This is my sinner's prayer
Who learned that love is not rage
Today I ask, with humility and pain
May you forgive me one day, please
Amen
For every kiss that hurt
For every I love you that wasn't mine
This is my sinner's prayer
Who just wanted to love, but made a mistake
