Sou Um Pobre Peregrino

I am a poor pilgrim
Tired from a long journey
I seek the celestial abode
Where there is no pain or suffering
What eases the walk
Is that I will see my Savior
When I cross the river and reach that home

Dark shadows pursue me
Treading steep roads
But I see far beyond golden
The lands I am seeking
I will dear ones there
In that homeland waiting for me

Soon I will be liberated
From all sorrow and trial
I will receive my reward
I will finally rest from everything
I will see Jesus, my Savior
Who shed his blood for me
