Once a pastor passed by on the road
Very distressed, thinking
His church was cold
His empty soul had nothing to give
He found a boy, working and smiling
Kneeling in the dust, offered a seat, and the boy replied

This voice echoed
And spoke loudly, the pastor reflected
All day passed, when night came, he went to bed
He couldn't sleep
He tried to forget to fall asleep, but it was always worse
It seemed he could still hear the boy saying kneeling is

In joy or in pain, always pray to the Lord

Then the Lord spoke clearly to him
That he should pray
And he began to pray, and the Lord helped him reconcile
His church that was without light, not shining
Became a lighthouse!
He lived happily after he understood
Kneeling is better!

I heard this story, and I understood
That I should pray!
Oh you, my brother, if you have tribulation
Unable to bear
Seek God in prayer, and the evils will pass
Kneeling in the dust
Humbled at His feet, overcoming cruel battles
Kneeling is better!
