Governador do Egito
Luiz Castilho
Governor of Egypt
When the sun shone bright, piercing the infinite
As the Ishmaelites passed by
From a pit, a scream is heard
It was Joseph crying out
His brothers did this
Potiphar bought the boy
When he got to Egypt
But time kept moving on
And the boy grew up
Gaining trust
He became the governor
And gathering provisions
He stored them in barns
Seven years of plenty
And seven more of dread
After some years had passed
In unforeseen lands
They had to go buy food
In Egypt
And Jacob sent his sons
To buy with great faith
He didn’t know the governor
Was his son Joseph
But Joseph, seeing the young men
Quickly recognized them
And after tough trials
He said: Do you know who I am?
I’m that boy
That you sold off
They fell to the ground
As soon as he recognized them
Joseph said to them
I cried from missing you!
But don’t fear, my brothers!
Because I’ve already forgiven you
Everything you did was a favor to me
Today here in Egypt, I’m the governor
