Cruz de Arena

On a Sunday afternoon
I went to the capital
I left my mother sick
It was a fatal thing

I couldn't find a job
To cure my mother
I searched high and low
No one wanted to hire me

Thinking of my good mother
Desperately, I returned
I found a sand cross
And that's how I lost my mother

Very sad and inconsolable
I went to the cemetery
I was on my knees
I asked for her forgiveness

I was left alone in the world
My dear mother died
Today I suffer a deep pain
God took her away

I cry and suffer for my sorrow
What a tremendous disappointment
I only found a sand cross
And my mother in the cemetery
