The Beggar

A beggar arrived at that temple
He sat down thirsty for the word of God
He wanted to talk to the pastor of that church

So he could advise him and speak to him about the Lord
And the pastor came out as if he didn't want to
To fulfill because it was with that man
And he gave him a coin as alms
He asked him to leave and that man left

And at that moment a car arrived and a man got out
An elegant and perfumed man
And the pastor almost kissed his hand
And the expensive ring and invited him to the temple
While that poor man was ignored for not having a car
Because he wasn't a doctor

The love of money is the root of all evil
We were all bought by the blood of the Lord
We are all equal here no one is worth more
Whether black or white, he died for all
Whether rich or poor, he gives us salvation

He died for you, for me, for her and for that
For children and for the elderly, everyone can come
He died for you, for me, for her and for that
For children and for the elderly, everyone can come

The beggar walked away from there
No one in the neighborhood ever saw him again
He never came back in search of anything
If his hopes were burned at birth

He died for you, for me, for her and for that
For children and for the elderly, everyone can come

Time passed and on a February afternoon a millionaire came
He arrived at the neighborhood, wanted to talk to the pastor of that church
So he could advise him and speak to him about Jehovah
And the pastor entered his office with him
He began to teach him the word of God
He told him with such beautiful phrases
That we are all different, but equal to God

And at that moment the millionaire spoke to the pastor
And said, take this coin that you gave me
I am the same person from that morning you spoke to
And you didn't listen
Today you serve me because I have money and a car
Today you value me

I am the same person from that morning, listen well
And people are valuable because Christ bought them
Every drop of blood, the vinegar with the gall
The nails in his hands, the thorns that stained him
All that suffering he endured for everyone

He died for you, for me, for her and for that
For children and for the elderly, everyone can come
He died for you, for me, for her and for that
For children and for the elderly, everyone can come

The pastor cried again and again
Asking for forgiveness from his Lord, the living God
He got up and started again
He understood that Christ preached without interest

He died for you, for me, for her and for that
For children and for the elderly, everyone can come
