UNA CARTA PA' SANTA
Lérica
A LETTER TO SANTA
The table's set and the cousins are arriving
Same old story saying goodbye to the year
It's barely 9 and they're already causing a scene
And I have zero desire to leave my room
Grandma asks me what time I'm coming home
And to keep her from getting sad, I change the subject
Your chair's empty and I'm feeling so down
While everyone dances, I write a wish on a napkin
This isn't just any letter, this is a letter to
Santa
Bring her back to me, 'cause since she left, the nights aren't good
If it's impossible, please bring me a ladder
So I can take flight and soar with her
So Santa, if you're reading this
As a gift, send me a time machine
To go back and freeze our memories
And give me back what I long for so much
What I long for so much
Another year I promise not to cry
That I'll have to pretend
That everything's fine
When inside I'm feeling terrible
The fireplace isn't warming, it feels like polar cold
Even the soup's getting cold
It chills me to the bone
When the clock strikes twelve
I head upstairs and open the window
To see if the sky shines and you bring me the gift
That I've been asking for, I swear I've been good
Please give me some joy
Santa
Bring her back to me, 'cause since she left, the nights aren't good
If it's impossible, please bring me a ladder
So I can take flight and soar with her
So Santa, if you're reading this
As a gift, send me a time machine
To go back and freeze our memories
And give me back what I long for so much
What I long for so much
What I long for so much
