There were five brothers who said they wanted to go to the stars
and their parents told them maybe they could, as long as they first
finished their schoolwork.

The first one didn’t want any of that, just the stars

in a bar where many of the big movie stars always ate,

The third one became a sheriff and got a shiny star

he forgot about the stars and the planets.

The fourth brother studied to be an architect
and thanks to three bottles, he won the bid
for the project of a five-star hotel.

The youngest, the fifth, was different; he didn’t want to, couldn’t
settle for fake stars, and today he just sent
a postcard from the Three Marias.
