Tres Deseos
Leire Martínez
Three Wishes
Today I erased before my first coffee
What I wrote while crying
With my eyes closed
From a heart that can't see
Like a bird that loses its faith
And finds the frozen sea
Flying the wrong way
Like I did when I came back
And being that fool who thought she found you
But it was a disguise of love that you left behind one day
While you smiled
You gave me a thorn dressed as a flower
The same old lie in a thousand love letters
It wasn't, really, even a kiss
One of those you give without asking for forgiveness
You closed a wound to split me in two
You wrote my story with a worse ending
Swearing me three wishes
To, in this room, tell me no
Even though you set my clock backwards
It's already daybreak
Taking away the life
That you made me believe
How many times have I tried to understand
That monotony
To which I kept returning
Out of fear of losing
And being that fool who thought she found you
But it was a disguise of love that you left behind one day
While you smiled
You gave me a thorn dressed as a flower
The same old lie in a thousand love letters
It wasn't, really, even a kiss
One of those you give without asking for forgiveness
You closed a wound to split me in two
You wrote my story with a worse ending
Swearing me three wishes
To, in this room, tell me that
You, from the beginning, thought that I
Would give my life for our song
But that girl has changed
You gave me a thorn dressed as a flower
The same old lie in a thousand love letters
It wasn't, really, even a kiss
One of those you give without asking for forgiveness
You closed a wound to split me in two
You wrote my story with a worse ending
Swearing me three wishes
To, in this room, tell me that
To, in this room, tell me no
