Bar De Bairro

It was on one of those Thursdays, those
Just regular ones in the middle of May
That I left my house
And walked into this neighborhood bar
When it was faith, at eight thirty-four

She walked through that door
The girl with the most beautiful smile in the whole galaxy
I didn’t even react
I just stood there
Watching her walk up to the counter
And buy a water
Just a water and nothing more

And before she left
She said thank you
Gave me a look
That I’ll never forget
I was so frozen that when she got in her car
I didn’t even see

I’ve been coming all year long
Every single night to this dive bar
Hoping she’ll come back
And I’ll ask for the name

Will someday have my last name
