Because of Him
If it were up to me, I’d stop right now
Fatigue hit me and I slowed down
My motivation disappeared and I just stopped
I paused to catch my breath and not give up
But even so
If it were up to me, I’d stop right now
My heart went on alert, it’s worn out
I feel a fear that tightens and leaves me scared
If it were up to me, I would’ve stopped long ago
But every time I’m tired, Jesus fills me up and makes it clear
That He doesn’t want to see me down, it’s tough, it’s draining, but He’s right here
Sending me whatever I need, easing my load and making me feel secure
And every time I want to quit, He shows up to help me push through
If it were up to me, I would’ve given up, but because of Him, I’ll get there
It’s because of Him that I haven’t stopped or given in
It’s because of Him that I got up and decided to keep going
And it’s because of Him that I’m still fighting
Because of Jesus, who always guides me, I know I’ll get there
Because when I can’t handle it, He’ll help me out
