O Trono Branco
Júlio César de Jesus
The White Throne
I saw a huge crowd that no one could count
The skies and the earth passed away and the sea was no more
I saw a huge crowd that no one could count
Peoples, tribes, languages, and nations
And the crowd suspended in the air
The skies and the earth passed away
The sea gave up its dead to the land and the air
Way up high, a white throne
With thousands of angels all around
And a man in white sitting on the throne
And the Spirit said: It’s the Lion of the Tribe of Judah!
Lord, don’t you remember me?
I saw all peoples, tribes, languages
And nations coming before that throne
Kings, ministers, presidents, the powerful
Rich men who made history for humanity
No one could escape
Hitler, Mussolini, Napoleon Bonaparte
Waldez, who denied the existence of God
In all his philosophies
Trembled more than King Belshazzar
They said: Mountains, fall on us
For we cannot bear the glory
Of Him who sits there
Lord, don’t you remember me?
I saw all kinds of sins and wickedness
Coming before that throne
Dogs, sorcerers, idolaters, sodomites
Effeminate, murderers, no one could run
And the great book of life was opened
And whoever was not found written in the book of life
Was thrown into the lake of fire
And the souls that descended to hell
Under the judgment of Jehovah
I saw when a gigantic angel
Dragged a huge crowd
To the throne and the surprise happened
They were believers in white robes
But all stained
Raising their hands
Claiming to be God’s people
Lazy believers, brawlers
Boasters, murmurers
Deadbeats, an endless multitude was all there
Singers, pastors, bishops, reverends
Who drew crowds, but only said
I’ll only go to your church if such fortune pays me
One year, a thousand years, fifty thousand years
I don’t know how long the judgment lasted
I only know that before that throne
No one came out victorious
And the church, the bride of the Lamb
Flew to God’s New Jerusalem
And I saw that with a shout of the archangel
When the great book of life was closed
Lord, in your name I preached, revealed, foretold
Lord, in your name I prophesied!
I preached, shook the temple, got rich!
Don’t you remember me? I don’t know you
