Yesterday I visited Sing Sing Prison
And in one of its solitary cells
A man was kneeling to the redeemer
Mercy, mercy from my great lord
But when he looked at me, he lunged
And with a trembling voice, stuttering
I heard sad brother this horrible confession
Here I am condemned to death
I had to kill someone I wanted to love
And even though she's dead, I still love her
Seeing her with her lover, I killed them both
Because of that infamous act, I will die
Only a few minutes left for me to breathe
The chair is ready, the chamber too
To my poor mother who is desperate
Give her this memory of me
