Elizeu was in the field working
With his oxen plowing the land
Suddenly the prophet Elias arrived
Threw his mantle, said follow me
Elizeu killed the oxen, burned the gear
Followed Elias for many days
There at the Jordan, what a wonder
God revealed that He would take Elias away

Elizeu asked for Elias' mantle
My Lord God, I want Elizeu's mantle

He struck the waters, said Lord
Where is the God of Elias?
The waters parted, he crossed
All who saw joyfully exclaimed
The spirit of Elias rested upon Elizeu
