Like a ship without direction, I sailed without God
I was a prisoner of my sins
Like a boat adrift in the middle of the sea
My tired soul could only cry

I had no hope of salvation
I was chained in a prison
It seemed like the sun didn't shine for me
It was a never-ending nightmare
All that surrounded me was bitterness

When He arrived, He said like this
I will put an end to your suffering
This someone is Jesus, took me by the hand
And said to me: You are free!
My soul shouted, today I am free
The chains broke, I left the prison
And now I can sing out loud
Like a free bird
