Nine-league boots, João Ramalho.
Up the mountain, from the lowlands of the restinga,
Comes climbing the robe
Of Nóbrega and Anchieta
Contemplate the Fields of Piratininga!
This is the College. Ahead is the backcountry.

North - South - East - West,
In 'bandeira' or 'monção',
Tame the fierce Indians.
