They exchanged the Rio Grande for other places
Searching for fertile land
Open field where I could
Work and progress

From the Coast
Other hopeful families
Full of life with their traditions
They were searching for a new horizon
When they saw the Canoes
They all cheered up
Good land appears!

The time has come
Where did the two groups meet
And passing beyond, the mighty Canoas
They discovered fertile, generous lands
Where the beautiful pine forests
With his arms always open
They welcomed them with love!

Greetings, beloved city!
The result of a hard-fought battle
Glory to our pioneers!
True pioneers!
And that's how it was
That's where our story began
With the audacity of our ancestors
Who faced the great deforestation
Wielding the axe
And preparing the land
With the hoe and the plow!
