O Vitupério de Jesus

Wounded was the Savior, Jesus, our King
He was seen as a wrongdoer and a lawbreaker
Led to a brutal death, He made no complaint
The holy and just Redeemer paid before God
The transgression of us all, opening the heavens for us

Cruel martyrdom He bore, the beloved Redeemer
In death, His soul was poured out, the great benefactor
And, for our God and Father, with blood He bought us
A great multitude was saved through the work of Jesus
Blessed be the King of peace, who is our light

The just died for the wicked, out of great love from God
He rose from death with power, our mediator in heaven
The good pleasure of the Creator prospered in Christ
Love one another as I have loved you, said the Redeemer
God loved us, the Father in heaven, sending the Savior
