Precious are the hours
In the presence of Jesus!
Delightful communion
Of my soul with the light
The cares of this world
Cannot shake me
For he is my shelter
When the tempter comes

Feeling surrounded
By earthly cares
Irritated and downcast
Or in fatal doubts
I turn to Jesus
In times of affliction
The words he speaks
Bring peace, consolation

If I confess my fears
All my imperfection
He listens with patience
To this sad confession
With tenderness he rebukes
My sin and all evil
Jesus is my friend
The best and most loyal

If you want to know how sweet
Is the divine communion
You can very well taste it
And you will be rewarded
Seek to be alone
In conversation with Jesus
You will experience in your life
The power that comes from the cross
