Oh! Que Amigo Em Cristo Temos!

Oh! What a friend we have in Christ! Closer than a brother!
He wants us to bring everything to the good God in prayer
Oh! What peace we always lose, oh! What heartache!
Just because we don't turn to the good God in prayer!

There are sorrows and troubles, there are temptations in life
We are not left without comfort, going to Christ in prayer
Could there be another friend so great in compassion?
To the humble and contrite, Christ answers in prayer

When we faint in pain, Christ reaches out his hand to us
For he is always our strength, our refuge in prayer
And if they despise us here, Christ is ours in prayer
He embraces us in his arms, and gives us consolation
