A Cidade de Ouro e Cristal

In Heaven there is no sorrow
Weariness, sadness, nor pain
No broken heart
Nor hymn but of praise
The clouds that are dark here
Shall exist no more
There everything will be joy
Without ever a sigh to be heard

I will go to that city
That God has prepared for me
There all the redeemed
Only sing songs of praise
Sometimes I miss
That glorious and eternal land
What joy it will be to see my Savior
In the city of gold and crystal

In the homeland that God prepares for us
By grace we will have a home
The garments will always be new
They shall not tear, nor stain
There will be no hunger or thirst
Nor anyone to ask for alms
For God will share His vast riches
With the saints

There will be no pain or weeping
Nor death shall we ever see
There we shall not be separated
No more shall we hear sad cries
The saved shall be forever young
For Christ will transform them
And in the twinkling of an eye
Like Him, He will make us immortal
