I had to walk
Alongside Him
And it was necessary to think His thoughts
And love people with His love
And also get close to the pain
And the deepest valleys
Gradually tasting loneliness
And the helplessness of this world
And learning this way
To depend more and more on His hands each day
When He called me
He didn’t make promises
Humanly convincing
Nothing that would dazzle my eyes
He just said He’d make me a fisherman
But I’m a fisherman of fish
And in truth, there are many others like me
We fish for different things and even if you don’t feel it
Your life will seek something
But for me to know that something
