Looking at great servants of the past
And now observing our days
I fear that so much excitement
Will break in the test of love

There are smiling faces drinking their own
Heart's tears

Looking at our lives nowadays
I ask myself to what extent
Would I take up the cross and follow
Him whom I call Lord?

Because results are not
The true indicator of approval
There are those who healed and cast out demons
But Jesus never knew them!

Looking at the attitude to be followed
Of those who unravel from the entanglement
I feel more secure step by step
Living to please Jesus

Because He humbled Himself
And endured the agony of the cross
Not so that I may be an artist, a standout
But simply a light
