Canta Meu Povo

Jesus was walking, going down to Jerusalem
With him were his disciples and the Pharisees too
The disciples were rejoicing, singing and praising
Saying blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord

Sing my people, rejoice my people
For the party will not end
When it ends on earth, it will continue in heaven

The Pharisees murmured, spoke with anxiety
Tell this people to be silent, and not disturb the city
Jesus looking at them, spoke with satisfaction
If these keep silent, the stones will cry out

We who know this, that it was Jesus who spoke
Before the stones cry out, we cry out to the Lord
Jesus came from his glory, to bring us salvation
There is no one who can take away the joy from my heart
