A Cruz e Os Cravos

The Cross and the Nails
Jesus Christ condemned
A signed decree, written for Him to die
An order from the Palace, authorized by Pilate
How it was going to be
He ordered the nails to be made, pure steel spikes
To pierce the Master's hands
A crown of thorns
To tear open blood vessels, He ordered it done there
Gave an order to the carpenter
Mold today the wood for a criminal to use
He will be humiliated
By soldiers whipped, bleeding Him until He bled
Pilate also ordered
The wood that was cut, make it in the shape of a cross
He will be carried, today He will be tortured
The Son of God, Jesus
On the cross, the Master was crucified
But on the third day, He rose again
Soon He called for Peter
And said these words with love
Take care, Peter, of my sheep
Tell the people that I’m going to speak to them
I came to save humanity
I don’t want to condemn any of them
Go to those who forged the nails
Tell them that I forgive
And to those who wove the crown of thorns, I forgive
To the one who built the cross
And hung My body up
I want to save his soul
And My forgiveness I give to him
On the cross, the Master was crucified
