Hail Mary! Virgin mild
Hear a virgin's plea
From this rock stark and wild
Let my prayer waft to thee
We sleep safely until the morning
Though people may be so cruel
Oh Virgin, see the Virgin's worries

To sleep, and your protection covers us
The hard rock will seem soft to us

In this dull rock crevice

Of the earth and the air demons
Chased away by the grace of your eyes
