Set the table for dinner
When we happen to glance at each other
indifferently in a single moment and
think about what we really are
When suddenly we find
all those moments we need to remember
so we can love each other
We’ll understand what it means
to just sit in silence for hours
holding each other tight
And we’ll realize then that the past
the past was what it was
but what will tomorrow be like?
Set the table for dinner
like every evening
just the two of us
But we open our eyes
all of a sudden
with our faces
there’s nothing left.
