Monte do Calvário

There on the mountain beyond
Behold the rough cross
Where someone is in distress
It is my Lord
Who descended from heaven
To grant me salvation

Hill, Calvary hill
Where my Jesus died for me
Sad to see Him so wounded
Solely perished in agony
Purely carried my burden
To free me from sin
This was the happiest day
For He died to save me

There on the mountain beyond
Behold the crowd
Mocking the Savior
But it was not in vain
That Jesus descended
To redeem the sinner
