17 of my Mario's coworkers have died,
17 coworkers who were on the top of a scaffold and the scaffold has fallen,
And I found out that their wives, to become widows, the insurance has given them 20 grand.

At the bar where my Mario has his coffee every day,
A boy from the lottery office came in selling tickets
With his glasses, his cane, and his little dog,
And everyone who was there eating their sandwich
Bought a little ticket from the boy.

With so much rain that has fallen,
