A mi padre
Erik Claros
To My Father
Humble and simple too
Honest, hard-working
I’m gonna talk about my father
Of whom I’m so proud
He knows sacrifice well
He provided for us as he could
The bread, food, and the roof
That always sheltered us
He speaks with wise words
He raised me with values
He’s planted respect in me
And reaps my admiration
So I sing to you, old man
With so much joy and fervor
If they ask about my father
I’ll say I have the best
My father is a strong tree
They chopped him down but he didn’t fall
The winds were so cruel
Yet he still shades us
And of course, he’s a good friend
He taught me the way
To go fulfill my dreams
That’s what he’s asked of God
Today I’d like to celebrate you
With my simple song
So you know and remember
How grateful I am
So I sing to you, old man
With so much joy and fervor
If they ask about my father
I’ll say I have the best
