A mi padre
Erik Claros
To My Father
Humble and simple too
Honest, hard-working
I’m gonna talk about my father
The one I’m proud of
He knows sacrifice well
He provided for us as best he could
The bread, food, and shelter
That always kept us safe
He speaks with wise words
He raised me with values
He’s planted respect in me
And reaps my admiration
So I sing to you, old man
With lots of joy and passion
If they ask about my father
I’ll say I have the best
My father is a strong tree
They chopped him down but he didn’t fall
The winds were cruel
Yet he still shades us
And of course, he’s a good friend
He taught me the way
To go and chase my dreams
That’s what he’s asked of God
Today I’d like to celebrate you
With my simple song
So you know and remember
How grateful I am
So I sing to you, old man
With lots of joy and passion
If they ask about my father
I’ll say I have the best
