I've been through some rough patches in this life
The waves of life's sea have colored me
With no more hope, my heart
I cried out to Jesus for salvation

Today I'm a rescued boat
By Jesus, she's sailing, well commanded
Guided to the port of salvation

In the middle of the storm, I heard a voice
So beautiful, gentle, and strong
It was Jesus
He took the helm of the vessel
And led me to the port of salvation
