Concupiscência
Dhiego Shofar
Lust
She doesn't arrive saying: I am perdition
She comes disguised, a simple idea, a false intention
When the guard falls, the construction begins
An invisible fortress within the heart
Because the war is mental
Before the body falls, it has already fallen spiritually
In the gaze that lingers longer than normal
She plants desire, reaps fatal damage
She arrives gently to deceive
A light smile to ensnare
A sweet promise to attract
But the plan is to destroy
Concupiscence, desire without direction
Promises life, delivers prison
It begins in the gaze, ends in destruction
Without vigilance, the heart falls
It grows when comparison is born
Another life seems better than one's own mission
Another marriage, another house, another version
Nothing satisfies, only increases frustration
She is in the laughter that becomes intention
In the light conversation that changes direction
The mind betrays before the body acts
The body only follows the order of the imagination
Concupiscence, Desire without direction
Promises relief, brings accusation
Steals peace, wounds the altar, breaks communion
And leaves the soul cold in solitude
Where fasting is born
It loses its turn
It doesn't compete with holiness
It never had chess
When God is exalted
It loses the throne again
When Heaven is summoned
It loses the throne at once
It doesn't win by shouting, it wins by whispering
It doesn't break down doors, it enters by inviting
While the soul sleeps, it reigns
And when it wakes up, it's already imprisoning
But there is a key: Vigilance
A secret weapon: Holiness in constancy
Where light governs, arrogance doesn't remain
Concupiscence loses all influence
Son
I do not expose you to condemnation
I reveal the struggle to heal your heart
Before the fall, I call attention
Vigilance today, prevents destruction
Where fasting is born
It loses its turn
It doesn't compete with holiness
It never had chess
When God is exalted
It loses the throne again
When Heaven is summoned
It loses the throne once and for all
Concupiscence is more than looking
It's unbridled desire, it's hunger that grows in the soul
And begins to govern
It comes in covetousness, in lust, in gluttony, in desiring
It promises pleasure to deceive you
But it delivers distance from the Father to enslave you
Concupiscence is more than looking
It's unbridled desire, it's hunger that grows in the soul
And begins to govern
It comes in covetousness, in lust, in gluttony, in desiring
It promises pleasure to deceive you
But it delivers distance from the Father to enslave you
