If I were to give away all I have to the poor
And surrender my body to be burned
But if I didn't have love
My sacrifice would be in vain

Love is the most important, most precious gift
Greater than all, in truth it is
A rare jewel, highly desired, but possessed by few
Only achieved by those who have faith first

Pure love does not get angry or offended
It does not hold grudges or seek revenge
Love is loyal, patient, and forgiving
And in justice it trusts

All power and gifts that come from God
Prophecies and the gift of healing
Will one day cease with Jesus' return
But love will forever endure
