In the old testament he was hardly mentioned
And in the new, he was never remembered
In suffering he was born
And so he also grew
Until one day Jabez attracted
The heart of God
Four desires he had
Requests written in a few lines
Pour out your blessing more and more
Enlarge my tents, I want to go further
I am thirsty, give me more of you
Lord, do not let evil afflict me
It doesn't matter to God
How man was born
Jabez, simply prayed and heaven answered
Much greater than my faith
More than my desires
Is the perfect and pleasing will
Of my God
Father, pour out blessings more and more
Your talents, I want to serve you
Your presence is essential
Deliver me, Lord, from the afflictions of evil
