I was sleeping and dreaming

I entered the forest
Tuned my guitar
Being in a strange land
I asked permission from the mountain
And sang a song

When I was singing
Soon an Indian came approaching
Started talking to me
Called me Socicaba

That the chief sent for

When I arrived at the village
That's when things got ugly
I lost faith in life
With my guitar aside
At that moment I was taken
To the presence of the shaman

He said, my friend
With you there is no danger
Sing this song here
I sang, he rejoiced
An Indian fell in love
Offered me her heart

There at that moment
I asked her to marry me
The chief didn't mind
I got married in the forest
Serenading
With guitar and song

After the party ended
All the Indians left
I was alone saying
With my beautiful young lady
An Indian like her
I will never see again

I stayed with my beloved
With the wild girl by my side
In the forests of Belém
Walking through the forest
When at that moment
I woke up, saw no one
