By faith once given to the saints by Jesus
Perfect faith that made so many victorious
They did not fear horrors or terrors
The faithful who followed the Lord

In sorrows, in struggles, and pain
They turned to Christ Jesus
Who gave them virtue and valor
By the faith that guided them in the light

The Christians were condemned in the courts
In prisons they were unjustly thrown
And stripped of their earthly possessions
All this they suffered for the faith

In this faith we, believers, must always
Walk firmly and thus we will overcome
