1. Look, my people, at this planet earth:
Of all creatures, the most beautiful!
I molded it with all maternal love,
To be a cradle of comfort and life. (Gn 1)

Our mother earth, Lord,
Moans in pain day and night.
Is this pain of childbirth?
Or simply agony?!
It will depend only on us!
It will depend only on us!

2. The earth is a mother, a living creature;
It also breathes, feeds, and suffers.
It is respect that she needs the most!
Without your care, she agonizes and dies.

3. See, in this earth, your brothers. There are so many...
That hunger kills and misery humiliates.
I dream of seeing a more humane world,
With less profit and much more sharing!

4. Look at the forests: green and strong lungs!
Feel that air that I gave you so pure...
Now, gases spread death;
The warming burns your future.

5. Contemplate the rivers that sadly agonize.
Does it not bother you to pollute like this?!
See: so many species no longer exist!
This garden begs for more care!

6. Humanity longs for a new earth. (2Pd 3,13)
The whole creation groans in pain. (Rm 8,22)
Transform the pains of this wait into Easter,
I want this earth in full gestation!
