Today you can trust
So many friends are with you
The room shines brightly and festively
You feel warmth love
You were alone for a long time
You had no hope left
Your heart seemed much too heavy
But now you know
When a new year is born
Is a part of yesterday also
And what was dark, heavy and empty
Will soon be a thing of the past
Whenever a new year begins
A new star gives you light
And you too can start again
Believe in you
Today you can understand
How difficult the first step often is
To approach others kindly
Because they are foreign, different
Time heals and forgets
And you see old things in a new light
Because you regain your strength
Much to give
When a new year is born
